DiMA Executive Director Lee Knife Appointed to FCC Advisory Committee
Washington, DC (December 7, 2010) – Lee Knife, Interim Executive Director for the Digital Media Association, has been appointed to the Federal Communications Commission’s new Video Programming and Emergency Access Advisory Committee (“VPEAAC”). The VPEEAC was created as part of Congress’s recent passage of the “21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act”. The Advisory Committee’s primary mission will be to develop recommendations regarding the delivery of closed captioning over Internet programming, and consider ways to promote increased compatibility between Internet programming and mobile devices – particularly with regard to closed captioning, video description and emergency information related services.
